This one is pure genre — a forty-seven-second neon-noir with a single, clean payoff. The whole idea is restraint: no flurry, no ten takes, just one decisive move.

The story

Neon-noir night. A calm stickman in a brown trench coat and fedora strolls a rain-slick street. A burglar in a beanie and domino mask blocks his path and shows off with a knife — juggling it hand to hand, lunging stabs, crossing slashes that paint a fading X in the air.

Bored, the man draws a pistol and fires one shot. The burglar drops the knife and hits the pavement. The narrator speaks only at the end: "One shot. Your videos, using Article Video Studio dot app."

How we made it

Restraint has to be earned with good staging, so the camera does the work. Some of the craft:

• Four camera treatments carry the scene: a 2D side street, a head-on front-face knife routine, the man's POV (his own gun rising from the bottom of the frame), and back to the 2D side for the bang — white flash, muzzle burst, frame shake.
• The coat is worn, not a cape: sleeves, lapels, belt, and a hem that sways with the gait, so the figure reads as a person in clothing rather than a silhouette.
